I left Davenport, Iowa this morning. I was listening to the local news and they were announcing that there was a two hour school delay because of fog. There was a half mile visibility. They sure don't know about fog!My goal today was to reach Litchfield, Nebraska. It was a rough day of riding, 550 miles and 200 miles of that was in severe thunderstorms. These mid westerners know thunderstorms, whew...Main street Litchfield. This town is where my grandpa and grandma lived. I remember riding the train from Ogden, Utah to Omaha, Nebraska to visit when I was 3,4,5 and 6 years old. I actually remember very little about the town. I don't remember my grandpa, I had just turned 3 when he died.
It was about 7 pm when I got out there, so the shadows were long. It turned out to be very beautiful.

Lumpster,
I read in the paper today there was a tornado in Iowa and was hoping it wasn't in your path.
I remember thunderstorms in Michigan when I was a kid...they can be very intense...scary!
